This module is a SIL3-rated safety digital I/O card from HIMA’s HIMatrix series in Germany. It is compatible with the F3 series safety rack and integrates 16 channels of 24 VDC safety digital inputs and 8 dual-channel safety digital outputs. It supports pulse signal output and is used in SIS safety interlock systems to acquire discrete signals such as valve positions and pressure switches, as well as to drive field actuators. The module features built-in dual-channel hardware diagnostics that monitor channel short circuits and open-circuit faults in real time with millisecond-level response times. It supports hot-swap replacement within the rack. Operating at 24 VDC and within a temperature range of -40°C to +85°C, it complies with IEC 61508 and IEC 61511 standards and is suitable for Zone 2 hazardous areas in the chemical, power, and oil and gas industries. It communicates with the master controller via the SafeEthernet safety bus. The panel is equipped with fault and operational status indicator lights, and the reinforced metal housing provides protection against electromagnetic interference. The modular plug-and-play design simplifies wiring, making it widely used in safety shutdown control systems for gas turbines, boilers, and compressors.
